TO-46 Sensor Engineering and 6:1 Distance-to-Spot Ratio

The SkyRC ITP380 utilizes a professional-grade thermopile sensing element enclosed in a shielded TO-46 housing. The sensor array is composed of 116 small thermocouple elements with an active area diameter of 545 micrometers on a silicon chip, absorbing thermal radiation to produce an immediate digital output accurate to 0.1 degrees. Boasting a balanced 6:1 Distance-to-Spot (D:S) ratio, the thermometer measures a 1-inch diameter area when positioned 6 inches away from the target (approx. 2.5 cm at 30 cm distance), enabling safe and reliable diagnostics on critical electronics.

Adjustable Emissivity Coefficient and Measuring Presets

To ensure precision across different surface materials commonly found in RC models, the ITP380 allows manual adjustment of the emissivity frequency range from 0.01 to 1.00. This baseline adaptation eliminates reading discrepancies between shiny metals and matte plastics. The firmware provides four individual operating modes:

  • Quick Mode: Instantly reads and locks the current temperature on the screen with a single click.
  • Scan Mode: Continuously tracks temperature variations in real-time as long as the trigger is held, perfect for scanning thermal layouts.
  • Maximum Mode: Tracks and displays only the highest temperature peak recorded during the test session.
  • Minimum Mode: Tracks and displays only the lowest thermal value recorded during the surface analysis.

Stunning High-Contrast VA Display and Power Management

The integrated VA invert display technology provides ultra-high static contrast ratios, offering optimal readability under direct sunlight or low pit-lane illumination. The smart interface presents all essential data at a glance (temperature, emissivity coefficient, selected mode, battery capacity, and measurement unit) without scrolling. Calibrated to match strict NIST-traceable measurement standards, the device features operational beep signals that can be silenced, along with an automatic power-off routine after 60 seconds of inactivity to maximize battery lifespan.
