The SkyRC Tyre Warming Belts for digital tyre warmer (Item SK600064-03) bring racing tyres to the right temperature before the start in the 1:8 on-road (GT) class. In GT cars, tyre temperature at the start of the race is decisive for performance throughout the whole heat.

They connect to the SkyRC tyre warming station and attach easily to the tyres thanks to the velcro fastening.

What they are for

The warming belts bring the tyre temperature, and with it the tyre pressure (which doesn’t matter for foam tyres), and above all the grip, to an optimal level before the start. The goal is maximum grip from the very first metre, without waiting for one or two warm-up laps.

What warm tyres do

• More grip: the compound becomes softer and adapts better to the track, giving more mechanical grip

• More consistent handling: the tyres respond predictably from the start, without the slippery initial phase
• Faster lap times right away: an advantage especially in short heats and finals, for example 5-minute races

How to use them (general guidelines)

1. Place the warming belts around the mounted wheels
2. Switch on and set the temperature: usual values range from 40 to 80°C, depending on tyre type, track and outside temperature
3. Warm for 20-30 minutes before the race, so the heat spreads evenly through the tyre
4. Optional: apply a tyre additive before the race, often combined with warming belts to boost the effect
5. Remove the belts and go straight to the track, so the temperature doesn’t drop

When they are most useful

• Low-grip tracks or low outside temperatures: with cold tyres, grip is hard to build
• Foam tyres (nitro on-road 1/8 and 1/10): standard use
