With the new Traxxas TXC-4M Extreme Crawler, Traxxas takes crawling in a completely new direction. This 1/18 scale model is based on an all-new design centered around an innovative monocoque chassis, allowing Traxxas engineers to optimize weight, rigidity, weight distribution, and suspension geometry.
The result is a compact yet extremely capable crawler designed to tackle technical trails, obstacles, and steep climbs with a combination of precise control, exceptional traction, and impressive ground clearance. The 3S brushless power system, full-time 4WD driveline, portal axles, and Stone Claw™ tires work together to deliver an entirely new crawling experience.
At the heart of TXC-4M is a 3350 kV 3S sensorless brushless motor, paired with a 3S brushless ESC featuring Field Oriented Control (FOC). This technology provides exceptionally precise throttle control and strong torque even at extremely low speeds.
The included 11.1-volt 250 mAh 3S LiPo battery works together with the included USB charger featuring iD® technology, providing everything needed to get started right out of the box.
The ESC also offers three dedicated driving modes:
The electronics are fully waterproof, allowing TXC-4M to be enjoyed in a variety of weather conditions.
One of the defining features of TXC-4M is its new composite monocoque chassis, specifically engineered for this project.
Unlike traditional ladder-frame designs, the monocoque structure provides greater torsional rigidity while reducing overall weight. The battery and ESC are positioned low in the chassis and mounted on opposite sides to optimize weight distribution.
The design achieves a 60% forward weight bias, an important characteristic for technical crawling because it increases front-wheel traction and helps the model climb steep obstacles.
The chassis also incorporates integrated rock-light mounting points and dedicated wire routing.
TXC-4M uses a full-time shaft-driven 4-wheel-drive system engineered to handle the torque generated by the 3S brushless power system.
The portal axles increase ground clearance under the center of the vehicle while helping reduce torque twist by transferring gear reduction toward the wheels.
The driveline features:
The internal gear ratio is 74.1:1, providing extremely precise low-speed control and the high torque required for technical crawling.
TXC-4M delivers an impressive 60° steering angle, designed to help navigate technical terrain and maintain precise control through tight sections.
The waterproof Traxxas 2265 steering servo features full-metal gears and produces 75 oz-in of torque. It is horizontally mounted and directly connected to the steering system without a servo saver, using a high-throw metal servo horn.
High-clearance steering and drag links help keep the steering components clear of rocks and other obstacles.
The suspension geometry has been specifically developed for technical crawling.
TXC-4M features triangulated 4-link suspension front and rear, with a lay-down shock design and high-clearance lower links.
The aluminum GTM Pro oil-filled shocks provide smooth, controlled damping. Their O-ring-sealed aluminum bodies can also be easily serviced using available rebuild kits.
To tackle demanding obstacles, Traxxas developed the new Stone Claw™ tires, measuring 1.3 x 2.8 inches, molded from a high-grip rubber compound.
The aggressive stepped-block tread pattern and wide directional sipes increase the number of contact edges with the surface, helping maximize traction on rocks and technical obstacles.
The tires are mounted on licensed 1.3-inch Method Race Wheels®, featuring a 3-piece beadlock design and 7 mm wheel hex.
TXC-4M is finished with a lightweight clipless tube-frame body, designed to keep the center of gravity low while providing maximum clearance during technical crawling.
The body panels are replaceable and can be customized with separately available accessories. A detailed interior with a driver figure adds a realistic scale appearance.
A simple rear clipless latch provides quick access to the model, while integrated mounting points are ready for the separately available lighting kits.
Despite its compact dimensions, TXC-4M is engineered to tackle significant obstacles. The model measures 234 mm in length, 149 mm in width, and 107 mm in height, with a 168 mm wheelbase and 43 mm center ground clearance.
The combination of a low-CG chassis, forward weight bias, portal axles, and high-grip tires gives TXC-4M exceptional capability when tackling steep climbs and technical obstacles.
The model delivers a 56.3° driving incline angle and a 79.8° static incline angle, highlighting the extreme crawling capability built into this compact platform.
TXC-4M includes the TQ Compact 2.4 GHz 2-channel radio system.
The compact transmitter features a removable color-matched grip adapter and a high-output signal designed to provide outstanding range. The compact receiver also features dual servo channels and dedicated LED channels.
The Traxxas TXC-4M Extreme Crawler comes fully assembled in Ready-To-Drive® configuration.
The package includes:
